On Feb. 26, 2008, Dr. Lallie Scott, Professor of Northeastern State University (NSU) from U.S., began her six-month academic visit to Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST). Her arrival will boost mutual friendship and collaboration on scholar exchanges.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Dong Faqin, vice president of SWUST, warmly hosted representative from NSU, and had extensive conversations with Dr. Lallie Scott on collaborations in the fields of teaching, research, and joint programs.

In the following months, Professor Scott will teach 2 courses: an introduction to Geography and Physical Geography for students in the school of Environment and Resources, and will give a series of lectures and seminars for teachers and students.

Currently we are exchanging ideas on areas of mutual interest to explore to building up close partnership between the two Universities for a long time
